Trachycarpus fortunei, the Windmill Palm or Chusan Palm, is fairly common in this part of the world. Not common enough in my opinion, but you see them around. It’s kind of a nice surprise to find a well maintained mature tree though.
The palm that this short post is about has obviously been in place for a while. The new BL garden is seriously lacking in the palm department, and is something I’ve been working on. It will be years before any of my palms are this big, unfortunately. If I’m lucky, though, I’ll have plenty that do get this large!
